This Privacy Policy explains how Spark Wave, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("we," "us," "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use The 12 Levers Bot at bot.12leversbook.com (the "Service"), an AI chatbot that helps you apply techniques from the book The 12 Levers. By using the Service, you agree to this Policy.

Important: The Service is not a medical, mental-health, or therapy service and is not a crisis resource. Please do not share sensitive information (such as health, financial-account, government-ID, or other confidential details) that isn't necessary to get help from the bot.

Information We Collect

  • Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address. We use passwordless email login, so we do not collect or store a password.
  • Chat content. We collect the messages you send to the bot and the responses it generates. Please keep in mind the caution above about sensitive information.
  • Subscription and payment information. If you subscribe, your payment details (card number, billing address) are collected and processed directly by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We do receive limited billing status (for example, whether a subscription is active).
  • Usage data. We collect information about how you use the Service, such as message counts, timestamps, feature usage, session activity, device/browser type, and IP address.
  • Cookies and analytics. We use necessary cookies to keep you logged in and to operate the Service, and we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage.

How We Use Information

  • To provide, operate, and secure the Service, including logging you in and generating bot responses.
  • To process subscriptions, free trials, and billing.
  • To send transactional and trial-reminder emails.
  • To collect usage statistics and to perform anonymous and aggregated analysis of user messages so we can find and fix problems, understand what users need, and improve the quality of the bot and the Service.
  • To diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix bugs and other technical problems, which may include analyzing the content of messages involved in an issue in order to reproduce and resolve it.
  • To enforce our Terms, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your identifiable chat content for advertising.

Third-Party Processors

We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf, under agreements that limit their use of it. The providers we currently use include those below, and we may use other third-party processors as well, now or in the future:

  • OpenAI — the messages you send are transmitted to OpenAI to generate the bot's responses.
  • Stripe — payment and subscription processing.
  • Memberstack — account creation and passwordless email login.
  • Upstash (Redis) — usage limits and account/trial state.
  • Resend — transactional and reminder emails.
  • Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics.
  • Vercel — hosting and delivery of the Service.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

Cookies and Analytics Choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent you from staying logged in.

Data Retention

We keep account and usage data for as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the Service, meet legal and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. Chat content is retained to provide and improve the Service; aggregated or anonymized analysis may be kept indefinitely because it no longer identifies you. You may ask us to delete your account and associated personal data (see Your Rights).

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, and our providers maintain their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. To exercise these rights, or to close your account, contact us at the address below. You can unsubscribe from reminder emails using the link in those emails.

Children

The Service is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International Transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the U.S. and other countries. If you use the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your location.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date.
